When it comes to bringing a construction project to fruition, it’s not enough to have a good idea – it’s essential to have a team you can trust. Stuart, with extensive experience in construction in the United Kingdom and Italy, chose Portugal as his new destination to invest in housing. And with that, a solid partnership with our team was born.
Choose wisely: the recommendation that made a difference
The connection with our work came about through the architect responsible for the project in question. Looking for contractors who understood the specifics of the local market and were aligned with the high quality standards required, Stuart asked the architect for a recommendation. That’s when the name J.A Duarte came up.
After a careful selection of six builders and visiting several construction sites, Stuart highlighted the quality of the finishes and attention to detail in the projects already delivered by our company. Trust took shape—and the choice became clear.
A team that builds in harmony
But it wasn’t just Nelson who won over the clients. Throughout the project, Stuart highlighted how the entire team got involved. From Filipe, the site manager, with his effective leadership and focus on organizing the site, to Micael, the project director, whose attention to detail and planning skills were essential to the success of the project.
More than just performing tasks, the team demonstrated motivation, proactivity, and pride in what they do. This was reflected in the way each stage was managed and each decision was made—with transparency, professionalism, and a sense of responsibility.
Budget, deadlines, and trust
With accumulated experience in construction, Stuart and his team defined a clear plan from the outset: detailed specifications, defined terms of reference, and commitment to the contract. This allowed for total alignment with the J.A Duarte team, ensuring compliance with the budget and deadlines.
Even in a more demanding project such as Salema—built on a hillside—the relationship of transparency and collaboration allowed for quick solutions to be found, without surprises or significant delays.
Mutual trust and long-term relationship
For Stuart, trust is built through consistent work and transparency. And this relationship has grown stronger over the course of two projects. With a third already in the planning stage – and another commercial project in Lagos on the horizon – it is clear that trust in our team goes far beyond a single project.
Nelson’s local knowledge, relationship with suppliers, and ability to mobilize resources were key factors in meeting deadlines and maintaining quality. It was this closeness to the community that helped resolve issues with city councils and public services efficiently.
Renewed confidence, project after project
Today, one of the houses designed by Stuart is fully completed and already represents a milestone of success – the result of collaboration, planning, and dedication from the entire team. The second, in Salema, is currently in the final stages of construction, remaining faithful to the rigor and standards defined from the outset.
Seeing a client return with new challenges is, for us, the greatest sign of trust. And with another residential project and a commercial development already in the pipeline, we remain committed to doing more than just building – we create solid relationships, tailor-made solutions, and works that exceed expectations.
